Alex just has this amazing warmth about her. When you’re with her you feel like you’re the only person in the world who matters, she gave me the confidence I needed to help me with my third and final incredibly fast labor.

Alex is the kind of person you just want around. She instantly creates a feeling of peace and serenity. She calms a room just by her presence. She has a natural power in the birth space, to ensure everything is as it’s supposed to be. Anyone would be lucky to have her by their side to support them through their journey.

Words cannot fully describe how grateful I am for Alex and her amazing family. Our first child was born naturally in the hospital. Though we experienced a couple of complications, it was an amazing experience. A few years later, while pregnant with our second child, my wife shared that home birth was increasingly becoming a desire of hers. I remember contemplating the possibility of home birth. To be quite honest, the thought made me extremely uncomfortable. Next thing I know, I ended up having what would be an amazing conversation with Ray, Alex’s husband. Ray shared his experience of home birth with all three of their sons. I will always remember his words to me. “Josh, our wives bodies were made to do what God created them to do… Trust.” It was in that moment I decided to take his words to heart. We moved forward with our home birth pursuit, with Alex right by our side. We could not feel any more well-prepared with the security and confidence Alex brought us, especially in the last month leading up to our beautiful Liliana’s birth. She was the answer to our prayers before we knew what we even needed. She was always available to answer questions and offer support when my wife needed it most, day or night. And in the moment that mattered most, Alex was right there — a solid rock, a tender support, and the presence of peace. She completed our birth team. No matter what your birth plan is, trust me — you want Alex by your side! I honestly could not recommend her more highly. So grateful for you, Alex!

When Alex at Led by Love first heard my birth story her eyes welled up with tears. It was as though she had experienced with me the troubles and hardship of my first birth. It was that first moment that I knew she was the right doula for me. My husband and I were blessed with a second baby and she decided to make her way into the world in may of 2020…just after the start of the pandemic. It could have easily been a scary time for birthing moms and dads. But, with Alex it became a joy. She helped us create a calm birth space in our home. But her support provided me and my husband 2 major things. First, physical relief. From her wealth of knowledge on how to handle any pain, to helping me get comfortable, getting me water, dimming lights, keeping music going, keeping our space clean and clear, getting me up and moving, timing contractions, keeping in touch with the midwife, truthfully the list is much longer and I’m sure there are things she did i am even unaware of since i was in labor. Second, she provided us BOTH mental support. She was so calm and collected even when there was waves of discomfort, she caused us to ease peace back into the room so perfectly. Without Alex I would have driven to the hospital. Lastly, my husband was understandably fearful to have a home birth after our first was an emergency c-section. But because of our wonderful experience we both agree that we will not go back to the hospital to birth our next babies. It wouldn’t be possible without Alex for us to feel this way. Truthfully, Alex’s tender heart, her desire to serve, her attentiveness, her peace, her gentleness, her knowledge, and her words of encouragement are worth more then we could ever pay. We recommend everyone to use her as their doula. She is irreplaceable.

From the moment I saw Alex’s name on a Doula list, I knew she was the one for me! I had seen her social media accounts before I actually reached out and just had a feeling that we felt strongly about the same things. After our first conversation I knew for sure that I wanted her energy at my birth. Along with doula services, my husband and I took her childbirth education class. My husband and I often felt like we could talk for hours and hours on end with Alex, she was so easy to talk to. This brought a calmness into us preparing for our home birth of our first baby.

On the morning of my birth I texted Alex right away. When contractions got faster we faced timed and she came over immediately. My anxiety lessened as soon as she was there. I was in safe loving arms. She guided me on breathing while speaking my birth mantras. She rubbed my back, and I could always hear her in the background cheering and encouraging me. She helped take away my fear and helped me feel empowered. Everything was happening at a much faster pace than I had expected. Alex always made sure I was ok and in the present moment and as comfortable as I could be. I remember when it was time to push my baby out, I had my eyes closed. I still hear Alex clear as day saying “Yes Mama, that’s it” This literally gave me strength and confidence to push my son earth side.

Alex made sure I was hydrated and had enough to eat after the birth. She stayed and made sure I was comfortable and asked if I wanted to go over anything that had happened. She had also texted me often within the following few days to check up on me. During my postpartum home visit Alex made sure breastfeeding was going ok and helped give me advice and tips for nursing and other newborn things. I shared such a personal and private experience with her as part of my team you can’t help but develop a special connection with each other. I had felt like I had a new best friend after the entire experience. I had such an amazing experience with Alex, that I am now pregnant with my second baby and couldn’t imagine not having her there again. I highly recommend Alex as a doula and for all your birthing needs.”
